Leaving the States

It's been a quick 8 months, but we are finally "taking off" to Sydney! It was only fitting that Mother Nature gave us some snow this morning in Pittsburgh as an appropriate send off. It wouldn't be a trip with Jared without a delay or luggage issue of some sort. We're crossing our fingers that the trouble we had with our bags this morning as well as our flight to Sydney being delayed are the last of the hiccups with our travels. It was quite amusing this morning checking 8 bags and having everyone in line pissed that we were going to make them late.

We have quite the stew of emotions brewing (excitement, nervousness, sadness to leave our friends and family from home behind, happiness for the adventures that await, etc.) as we sit waiting for our flight in JFK airport.

This is the very first blog, so it is short...

We'll post an update with our experiences from the first few days once we arrive.

So long for now Pittsburgh!!!
