Scuba Dive Class

Katie spent all weekend at Dive Class. Our friend Pat went as well and they got to be dive buddies. Some of the skills were pretty scary the first time (like removing your air source as if you can't find it) but after you do it once you realise its not that bad. Actually, the whole thought scuba diving is pretty scary with some of the things that can go wrong so it is a good thing to practice those skills. Katie found out that diving is alot of work though and was exhausted every night. Carrying around and swimming with a huge tank and extra weights is not easy but it is worth it at the bottom!

Shelly is a great place to dive...we saw squid, rock fish, tons of tropical looking fish, more blue groper, and stingrays. There were some whale sharks in the beach that day and lots of the divers were spotting them but we were sad that we never got a good look.

Jared had a weekend to himself and got to try some new things as well...particularly mountain biking. It was a rainy day that day too which made it quite an experience for your first time. And yes, we do have some mountain biking although we dont live in the mountains. There are a ton of trails near manly dam. Then he spent the rest of the weekend golfing and snorkeling at Shelly.

Next saturday is Katie's final exam and dive and then hopefully she will have her license! Since Jared already has his license, we will definitely be putting them to good use and booking some dives on our upcoming trips!
