A Birthday Weekend
This past weekend we celebrated Katie's birthday with all our friends as we were out of town for her actually birthday. Luckily, Carrie and Michael were still in town and could meet all of the manly crew. The weekend consisted of drinks at the wharf bar and a lovely dinner at Manly Grill.
But we had to take it easy as Sunday was the Bridge Run, a 9km race that starts on the Harbour Bridge and ends in the Botanical Gardens. First we sent Carrie and Michael home at 6 am that morning and then boarded the 730 ferry to arrive just in time for our race to start at 830. It was a great place to run but it was very hot that day. We haven't been training properly either as we have been so busy lately. It turned out alright though and we met our friends for brekkie in Manly afterwards. As the day was beautiful, Pat and Nicole had a bbq at the pool in our apartment complex. We made buffalo chicken dip which everyone enjoyed! Pat and Nicole dished up an excellent meal of burgers, sausages, salads, fruit, and pimms. However, the great weather didnt last long and we were soon eating our burgers underneath umbrellas. As soon as dinner was over, we packed up and headed to bed as we were so tired from the day.
