Thanksgiving 2009
This year we have built our family of friends here in Manly and were able to celebrate the season with them. We didnt have Thursday off like at home but Melissa and AJ threw their annual Thanksgiving Deep "Fat" Fried Turkey Fest on Saturday. Melissa and AJ had to order a 20 lb turkey to feed everyone which is not very easy considering that turkey is pretty scarce in Australia and very expensive.
Melissa, AJ, Jared and I were the only Americans there. But everyone enjoyed the fiest which consisted of turkey, potatos, veggies, salad, apps, and of course pie...apple, pumpkin and cherry. Delicious! Here pumpkin is used in salads, pizza, soup, curry, etc but not as a treat so it was interesting to see everyones reaction to our Thanksgiving staple and it was a very good response.
We are very thankful for our wonderful friends here and to be living in such a great place. But we miss our family and friends back home along with the wonderful fall weather.
