Going Home

Sadly, Katie had to go home this month to see her grandma who wasn't doing so well. It was a last minute trip for only a short week and as such she didn't have any plans, she got to camp out out the grandparents for a few days, spend some quality time and help out.

It was lucky she made it there in one piece though...after a 2.5 hour delay in Sydney any connecting flights were missed in LA and with all the delays in the flight schedules with the Iceland volcanos, it was another 8 hours before she hopped a plane for Vegas to grab an over night flight to Charlotte before catching one more flight back to Pittsburgh. So after 48 hours, 2 nights on an airplane, no shower, and 5 cities later, she finally hired a car and drove 2 hours into Ohio. Needless to say it was a rough trip. But those of you who know Katie can really laugh because there is nothing else that gets her upset more than flight problems. Surprisingly she held her cool and just tried to get as much sleep as possible.

It would have been good to be able to see everyone whilst she was there but at least she got to hit up Fat Heads and Olive Garden again with Craig & Mo and all the high school girls. It has been awhile since last time she missed the girls and wonderful to catch up. Without Jared along, there was also some time for a girls night at Carly's, some proper US shopping and a pedicure. The trip was too short though. At least it was a blessing to come home and say goodbye to her grandmother.
