Weekend in London

I LOVE LONDON.  It is not the prettiest city you may ever see but the vibe is contagious.  And the best part...the pub scene.  So when my friend from Australia was back in town for her birthday, I had my flight booked before I even finished my morning cup of coffee (and that is impressive my friends).

We took an early weekend and arrived Friday arvo for an hour of ice skating in Somerset with mulled wine and Christmas lights.  A little bit of Christmas Cheer to kick off the holiday season.  Then on to Covenant Garden pubs (of course) and Indian for dinner (what else?).  Oh soo good.  My friend picked out a little place that was highly rated.  It was packed and overflowing outside in the cool winter air.  Thats how you know that you have picked perfectly.  And it lived up to its (and Londons) reputation.  mmmm.

As we did many of the sights in July, we opted to use Saturday to explore Windsor...just half an hour from London.  We had great coffee and breakfast at one of the local cafes, something I havent had in a really really long time.  Windsor Castle is of course the main site...and it was my favorite thing we have done in London!  Seeing the castle and lavishly decorated rooms was not only interesting but felt like going back in time.  I cant believe that this still lives on in modern daz and people still live in places like this.  Amazing.

There is only more night for pubs and food so it was another bar crawl.  This time it was along the southbank.  Amazing Ciders and Wines.  More Indian for dinner too.  I starting to feel really at home here.  Did I mention I LOVE LONDON?!
