Mostar

There is so much to see and learn in Bosnia Herzegovina and the ex- Yugoslav area.  One trip to Mostar will have anyone wanting more.

It's a unique little town in the hillsides and a great symbol of the war.  Still today many of the buildings bear scars from the war.  The famous bridge though has been rebuilt and it is the center of the city with the old town stretching from either side of the river and filled with a surprising mix of Asian goods, Bosnian coffee bars (Turkish coffee), tiny shops & local craftsmen, and delicious local foods. Enough to fill a day and a lots of bags of homemade souvenirs.  The tiny streets are packed with visitors though and it is catching on fast.
