New Years Ski Holiday
Week 2 of our two week ski holiday in the Alps for Christmas and New Years led us to Soeldon Austria. This time a much bigger resort with even a 15 km run and glacier ski area for guaranteed snow. A good place to spend a week without getting bored of the runs.
Soeldon ski area is high too...3 peaks over 3,000m high and it made for some fresh snow. We had good snow the whole week. The town is not as cute as other alpine spots with the main road running through it but the ski area made up for it. Lots of great mountain huts for lunch stops and a few good bars in town for apres ski and mulled wine.
New Years in the Alps is not a big show location though...no massive fireworks display. So don't expect a big party. But the locals make a show of it anyway, just head out to the street for the show.
Two weeks of skiing = pure bliss
