Girls Trip to Lyon, France
My girlfriends wanted to plan a girls trip for the long weekend at the end of May. We had no particular destination in mind. So we did what I have always wanted to do and just booked the cheapest plane ticket to anywhere....and we ended up in Lyon, France.
Lyon was a surprising destination for me. I never really heard much about it. But it won me over quickly and I highly recommend it for a weekend.
Its a cute little city full of beautiful architecture with what has to be the prettiest church I have ever seen (right up there with the Vatican and Florence's Duomo). The city is also full of secret traboules and courtyards hidden behind stunning doors of the city's old historical buildings, a traditional architectural feature.
But its great French food and amazing French wine should be enough to lure anyone here. And it was definitely perfect for a girls weekend. So after our morning strolls through town, we could spend the afternoons with a few bottles of wine before dining the night away on amazing French food.
