Riley - 6 Months and Standing

Riley hasn't slowed down and now that crawling has been mastered (most days he is on a war path through the house leaving a path of destruction in his wake), its onto climbing and standing. He started to pull himself up in standing position when he really wanted the piece of pizza I was eating on the couch. Now he is doing it all the time and on everything. So the danger zone just got two feet higher. But that does mean he got his first pair of shoes :)

He still wants to be walked but his balance is getting better.  He loves chasing balls and kicking them around the room.

Socially, he has also started babbling - Dada, Baba. But his favourite is still blowing bubbles ... constantly. And he has the same bubbling personality.

Soo much personality.  He lets us know when he doesn't like something like wiping his nose, not being allowed to play with the outlets, fan, or computers, or not being allowed to crawl off the side of the bed and fall on his face.

This month has been busy with mommys group meet ups, day care at the gym, and a trip to London.

He also graduated to sitting in the big tub which makes bath time even more fun.

Rileys Stats
  • 7.8 kgs
  • 67 cms
  • Weirdest Food - Wasabi, chased by lots of water and milk (don't ask)
  • Favorite Foods - Watermelon and Orange
  • Falls - too numerous to count
  • First Injury - Cut eye from running into a glass coffee table

What I love about Riley this Month

  • The Bulldozer - Riley loves to bury his head when he sleeps and he constantly is using his head to bulldoze the mattress, pillows and us.
  • Center of Attention - He knows how to work the room. He stares and smiles at the first person until they smile back. Then he moves on to the second person. And then moves back to the first person to make sure that they are still looking at him.
  • He has to be in everything we do (even the camera) - If its vacuuming, emptying the dishwasher, laundry, eating, talking, no matter what he has to be helping.
  • No Fear - Nothing phases him.  He loves to chase the vacuum, climbing on everything, doesn't mind the waves or water fountains, loves sand and rocks, etc.
