Riley - 8 Months
This month Riley has learned to get out of his highchair and crawl across the table, open drawers, squat, kneel, bounce, and pounce. He has also started letting go whilst standing for a few seconds and then lowering himself to the ground.
But its been a rough month: Riley got his first stomach bug, food poisoning and is now possibly teething. It has been one thing right after another unfortunately.
He looks a little more like me these days but is still leaving us puzzled with his brown eyes. His personality is still a good mix but unfortunately I think he got my stubbornness. He has already started temper tantrums at 8 months old! I have a feeling, we are in for it.
Despite all the sickness, we had a great time in Paris and Riley was his usually charming and beautifully behaved self. He loved the French food.
It was also Halloween this month - we had three parties! And Riley looked adorable in his shark costume.

What I love about Riley this month
- The Destroyer - I know its just the typical phase for this stage in his development but it is hilarious. He loves to empty drawers, boxes, etc, tear up paper, throw everything, bang everything off the floor and push all his toys over. Who knew we needed a play mat to protect our floors from him instead of the other way around.
- The Spider Monkey crawl - Riley is fast. His crawl has developed into a full on spider monkey crawl where his knees barely touch the floor.
- The pounce - The pounce is absolutely adorable. When he is so excited to have a toy, he often bounces and then takes a big leap to pounce on top of the toy.
- Go-Getter - Riley is so eager to do what the big kids do. He is obsessed with them and picks up everything, from drinking out of a cup to giving other babies kisses.
