Friends
We have fast made close friends here in Australia, both at work and here in Manly. With our busy weeks working during busy season we have been using the weekends to catch up with friends. Katie on several occasions joined her girlfriends Charlie, and then her friends Melissa, Nicole, Maxine and Lisa for some girls nights while Jared joined the boys for poker night.
Every weekend seems jammed packed with parties and events...everything from brekkie to dinner! Grabbing brekkie by the beach with friends has quick become one of our favorite weekend events. With the wonderfully warm winter weather (70-80 degrees) we even had a BBQ at Manly beach with work friends last weekend and a picnic this weekend. It was also Nicoles bday this past weekend and we both joined our crew of friends for a night in Manly at the Bavarian Beer Cafe for some mango beer (also a new fav). We have another birthday bash coming up this weekend for our English mate, Chez, at the Opera Bar and in true Australian style we head to Melissa and AJ's house (who always throws great parties) on Saturday for a Michael Jackson themed costume party.
While it is great to have such good friends here, we also enjoyed a visit from Jared's two college friends, Annie & Brenda. They stayed with us for a week while hitting up the sites of Sydney before heading to the Great Barrier Reef. Once again, we were more than happy to show off our favorite attractions and restaurants. It always reminds us of what a truly great place we live in.
