The Manly Crew
The last few weekends we have been planning get togethers with the Manly crew...
This last week Jared had Friday poker night with the boys so Katie got some more time to work on her pictures. Then we had part of the manly crew over for a housewarming on Saturday. The view and food were a success...Katie had a ton of appetisers for everyone to enjoy with the view, and then it was chicken & mango skewers and a big pot of Jambalaya (her mother's recipe). It seemed to turn out well from the responses even with Katie's trouble in converting lbs to kilos, etc. Brady's daughter Emily brought along another great dessert showcasing her baking talents.
Sunday was volleyball for Katie so Jared got a chance to get out for a dive at our local beach. He went with Brenda, who also works at KPMG but is a part time dive instructor. They saw wobbygong sharks...but the highlight was a weedy seadragon (something Jared has wanted to see for awhile). We finished off the weekend with a BBQ at Dan & Chez's to watch the Australian Open final tennis match.
Then this weekend we split up once again. Jared and the boys went on a camping trip for the weekend up the coast where they could go paintballing. The only problem was that it rained all weekend and they gave in on Saturday and got a cabin. The girls stayed in Manly and had a typical girl weekend...movie night on Friday at ours, shopping on Saturday for new dresses, and then girls night out Saturday night (where Katie could bust out her dance moves once again). It was an excellent time with our friends but we were happy to spend Sunday together again relaxing and watching movies.
With all these things to do, the weeks here keep on flying by.
