Rain Rain Go Away
After a rainy weekend last weekend this weekend was only a little bit better...
Friday night we headed way out of the way for Garry's bday at Doyles. It is renowned for the best fish and chips...and we agree. Katie who doesnt even like fish and chips has approved. The best part is that it is all you can eat...we had seconds and thirds, they just kept bringing more plates out. It was an impressive display, or shall I say disgusting display? It started downpouring that evening and the cab ride home was a bit scary as we drove through the flooded streets.
Saturday morning we dodged the rain in the morning for some time at the beach with the manly crew...making our way to four pines brewery for lunch when the rain hit and then following up the afternoon and evening at the new wine bar in town. After a long day, we went with Dan Chez, and Annette for pizza and back to our place to play some games. We broke out our old favorite, Apples to Apples, which is always good for some laughs. Poor Annette always got stuck with those ever embarrassing cards.
Sunday morning the rain didnt hit again until noon so Katie thankfully got in her volleyball after it was cancelled last weekend. Then being valentines day, we met for some lunch but had to cancel Jared's kayaking trip. Jared set it up even though he hates it because he knows how much Katie does like it. To quote Jared last time we went, "This is the worst idea ever!". He will never live that one down. But don't worry, Katie will remember she still has a raincheck for it. Instead we had a quiet afternoon at home and opted for a Thai dinner and renting some movies instead. The girls did spare the boys the pain of watching the new chic flicks out and took a trip ourselves to the movies on Monday to see the new Valentines Day Movie, which was very cute.
