Jared's BDAY Bowls

We had Jared's actual bday dinner at Jared's favorite restaurant, Bench, with a few friends including Pat & Nicole who have since left us. Since there was so much going on right now, we instead planned a full on celebration for a few weeks later...

Jared also had to head to the Gold Coast for work that week, one of his clients owns numerous hotels including one in surfers paradise. While the Gold Coast and Surfers Paradise sounds very attractive they are probably not the first location you would want to go to in Australia...very touristy and not at all Australian....More like a crappy Myrtle Beach. Meanwhile Katie was working late every night that week.

Then came the big bday bowls celebration last sunday. It was a beautiful sunny day and we had nearly 30 people come out and play. We held it at the Manly Lawn Bowling Club. It was great to see everyone including cute Finn and baby Noah. We had an officiant who started us out in a random team selection and round robin tournament. It was a good way to get everyone involved and mingling amongst each other. Jared's team won the Horse's Arse trophy (the winner of all the loser) while I think Katie's team was just the loser of the losers! Jared got lots of presents and now has a lot of gift cards to the dive shop racked up, something that will surely come in handy.
