Saying Goodbye

This month, we had to say goodbye to some of our favorite couples; Nicole & Pat and Maxine & Tom.

First off, last saturday Maxine & Toms' held their last BBQ in their wonderful garden over looking Manly wharf. The goal was to eat the house empty...and we did! It started at 130 and there was so much food it lasted all evening.

Sunday, we decided to take some group pictures by the beach except for Paul & Brady and family who had a sick little bub. Thankfully he is alright but we missed them in the pics. The pictures turned out great. Then we grabbed brekkie before the girls took Nicole and Max for a girlie day to get pedis and drink some bubbles. I couldn't last much longer after that and went home to take a sunday afternoon nap.

This Friday was Pat and Maxine's work happy hour to wish them goodluck. We headed down to the courtyard at the Slip Inn near work and kept it rather low key as Saturday was sure to be the big blow out party with our closest friends. They had reserved a space in the local Manly brewery, Four Pines, a top favorite for most of us. The boys were sure to play some sort of joke on Pat and Tom....as Four Pines is Pat and Tom's favorite spot, they all sported jackets with Four Pines patches as if they were part of the "Four Pines club" without Pat & Tom. Eventually they gave in and gave Pat and Tom theirs. We enjoyed some meat pies and lots and lots of drinks.

Sunday, we rehashed the night's events at brekkie together and then said our final goodbyes that day. It is so sad to see them go!!! We have many many great memories with them in the last year and a half (it is amazing how quickly you can create great friendships) including some great weekend trips to the Outback, Tasmania, and Port Stephens. But we know that they have a great life ahead of them back home and we are very very happy for them.
