Back to the Snow

We headed to the Snowies again this year with a group of 12 for a weekend of skiing. We stayed in jindabyne like last year with plans to ski Perisher resort on Saturday and Thredbo on Sunday. Although, the snow this year was way different than last year. As it is, Australia's skiing is no where close to top notch and on top of that there was absolutely hardly any snow but man-made snow. A few runs were still open and we still got in a full day at Perisher on saturday none the less. Everyone was at different levels so we headed out in different groups and met up for some lunch and hot chocolate in between. Saturday night was our friend Linda's birthday so the 12 of us all squished into a tiny italian restaurant to celebrate.

We had ski'd Perisher last year so were very excited to see Thredbo on Sunday. Unfortunately for us, it rained all saturday night and the snow was very slushy on sunday. It was a shame too as we decided Thredbo was much prettier and had far better runs than Perisher. But instead of paying $100 to try our luck for a few hours in the slush, we opted for some brekkie and to head home a little early to get a good nights sleep. Maybe next year we will get to try out some good skiing in New Zealand instead.
