Singapore
I cant believe it is my first time in Singapore. We took a tour of the city to get our bearings and see the harbour, river, and architecture of Singapore.
It is just what you hear, very clean and neat. Not too much going on in this town other than the financial district. Which also means it is the perfect hub for expats and there are tons of shopping, dining and drinking options that come along with that.
We of course were here to visit our expat friends. Besides hanging out at their pool (because everyone has a pool here), they took us shopping in China town and to a local hacker center for dinner. This is where you get the first feeling that you are actually in Asia! Despite the first look of a hawker center the food was amazing...the Malay hot pot was the best dish I had whilst here.
We tried all sorts though... the classic Singapore sling at Raffles, drinks at the top of Marina Bay Sands, and the Singapore chili crab.
While the food and shopping are great, the one thing that sets Singapore out though from all other Asian and Western cities is its greenery. So Lush. And there are plenty of parks, gardens and rainforest reserves to enjoy it...if you can stand the heat long enough. Definitely where I would be hanging out if I were an expat.
