Long Island, Whitsundays
Its an old Peppers Resort so the accommodation is intimate and beautiful. But the new owners no longer run the restaurant so cooking now is up to you using the bbqs by the pool or in your own beachfront bungalow (groceries can be pre-delivered). We ate like kings too without the pretentiousness of a five start resort restaurant.
The beach was nice with a little reef - we saw a few reef sharks even from the shore. And the resort had kayaks and paddleboards for use. You can also take a hike around the island to one of the many other secluded beaches. (Although its best to go before stinger season so you don't have to wear a stinger suit in the ocean.)
Riley loved the cockatoos, wild turkeys and wallabies everywhere. I loved the hammock on our porch.
