Manly Master Chef Cook Off

This month we started a new event with our friends....the Manly Masterchef Cook Off! Somehow Jared managed to weasel himself out of organizing it and participating (sounds familiar doesn't it). Instead he was a judge alongside our friend Ivan, a local Aussie who is a true foodie and an excellent cook (last weekend he made us delicious homemade pizzas from scratch). Let's just say that Jared didn't bring so much to the table when it came to judging though.

The rest of us arrived at the grocery store at 630pm where we received the secret ingredients from the judges and had an hour and a half to get back to ours and make an appetiser and a main dish. The results were pretty impressive...homemade pumpkin soup, homemade raviolis, stuffed chicken and AJ & Emily even made dessert. AJ & Emily turned out to be the winners in the end and I think that was a unanimous decision. Emily is only 13 but she is brilliant when it comes to cooking.

Next time we will see if Jared can match up to the steep competition or if anyone else can knock the Masterchef's out!
