State of Origin

We always take an opportunity to join in the Aussie fun and festivities... This Wednesday night we joined in the fun with a bunch of our work mates and got tickets to a rugby game with the old rivals NSW against QLD. We grabbed some drinks and then picked up our new blue t's and blue hair wigs to support our state although it may be less than attractive. There was an entire section who wore their blue and it was a terrific site.

Unfortunately, as consistent with the usual weather in May, it poured and we had to buy new ponchos to keep our selves dry and of course our food dry too. It wouldnt be a proper game without a cup of hot chips just like hotdogs and baseball games back home. The rain finally let up about half way through so we could enjoy the game. NSW started out strong but QLD came back with a few more trys. It came right down to the last few minutes where NSW came close to catching up by scoring another try in the last minute but in the end it was QLD who won for the 5th year in a row!

Oh well, it was great fun to be a part of although I still can't figure out a game where you throw the ball backwards and call scoring a "try"... Jared on the other hand has become quite acclimated to the sport scene here.
