Night at the Museums

This weekend was Zurich's annual Lange Nacht der Museen (Night at the Museum).  What a great idea!!!!  You buy a 25 franc pass and can visit any of Zurich's museums from 7pm until 2am.  Music and bars are set up outside for all to enjoy.  And lots of times there was extra exhibits outside.

We haven't yet visited any of the museums so it was the perfect opportunity.  We met our friends at the first and grabbed drinks in between moving from one museum to the other.  We were only able to get in three museums so next year we will work our way to other ones.

Landesmuseum - A beautiful building with the whole history of Switzerland.  Not usually the kind of museum I am in to but there was quite a bit of interesting parts.  Maybe because some of it actually relates to my history...the anabaptists.

Museum fur Gestaltung - This museum has new exhibitions each year.  This year it was an exhibit on plastic trash and particularly how most of it ends up in the ocean.  It was right up my alley and even though I have seen many programs on this issue it still gets to me.  I love the ocean, I love diving and I love the sea animals.  To see the pictures of how hurtful we can be is hard to see.  I love this museum and I cant wait to see what exhibition is next.

Kunsthaus - This is Zurichs art museum,  I love art but sometimes contemporary art can be too much for me and this is one of those instances.  It did make me night though.  I found much of it very amusing.
